Rob has 30+ years of experience in executive development, having worked in top business schools, consultancies and run a corporate university for a major multinational, where he has structured and facilitated long-term leadership development programs for senior executives and advanced managers. Rob is an experienced executive coach with thousands of conversations with over 88 nationalities. He uses his learning from these developmental conversations to enhance and bring to life his coaching and facilitation sessions. Rob leverages his background in both business and academics to develop and coach leaders who can build a culture of engagement and commitment in multi-cultural environments.
Rob’s approach to executive coaching and facilitating leadership programs ensures executives learn how to embed the skills they need now, in their current roles, and to commence groundwork preparing for future positions. He is able to bring to his coaching and facilitation: a deep understanding of how leaders self-coach through experimenting and diligent practice in their everyday work environments; the best practices that make leaders more effective; aligning leadership capabilities to improve business results; self-managing executive presence to improve influence and collaboration to build a common purpose; overcoming behaviours that might derail careers; and using coaching as a leadership skill to develop highly effective individuals and teams.
Originally from the UK, Rob has lived in Singapore since 2003. His clients come from most industries and government, ranging from hi-potential middle managers to CEO level. His coaching qualifications include: Ontological coaching with Newfield Asia, Feedback coaching with Centre for Creative Leadership, Somatic coaching with the Strozzi Institute and Embright, Essentials of Coaching and Coaching Skills for Managers with Coach University, Neuro-semantics and NLP, CEO Readiness with the Executive to Leadership Institute, and Mindfulness with UCLA. Rob is an invited member of the Hogan Coaching Network. Rob is qualified in Design Thinking, and Action Learning Sets. He regularly acts as lead facilitator, and delivers workshops in strategy, leadership, teams, emotional engagement, influencing, conflict management, executive presence, learning culture, performance management and coaching.
A mechanical engineer by training, Rob has worked in several engineering MNC’s and was managing director of his own successful manufacturing company. As an educator, Rob was a senior member of faculty with Manchester Business School specializing in executive education, strategic leadership and strategy implementation, and he headed the corporate university (Asia) for the 5th largest semiconductor company, STMicroelectronics.
Rob holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, an MBA from Manchester Business School and is accredited in 25 psychometric and 360 assessments, including: Hogan, Firo-B, MBTI, ViaEdge, Workplace Big 5, Voices & Benchmarks.
