Biography

Sam leverages his experience in entrepreneurship, strategy consulting, construction, executive coaching, and global venture capital to drive impact through a wide variety of strategic, operational, cultural, leadership, and technology-related projects for organizations of all sizes – from small cause-driven start-ups to Fortune 100 conglomerates. Prior to joining the Project Next team, Sam helped his clients develop growth strategies, manage complex change, develop their next generation of leaders, redesign their organizations, and improve the functionality of their teams through his work within McKinsey’s Organization Practice, Deloitte’s Human Capital Practice, FMI’s Leadership and Organizational Development Practice, and his own strategy & leadership consulting firm, Ideas2Impact. In addition to consulting, Sam has worked in a variety of operational roles, from managing several large biotech construction projects for DPR Construction to sourcing, investing in, and scaling a wide variety of agricultural, mobile banking, and solar lighting technology companies in India, Kenya, Zambia, and Indonesia as a Portfolio Manager for the IFC-backed Grassroots Business Fund. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and an Integral Coach Certification through New Ventures West.

  • Co-designed and co-facilitated the process for strengthening leadership, teamwork, and project delivery on a global network of multi-billion dollar technology facilities
  • Worked with State Government leaders to incorporate feedback from 8,000+ business owners into a comprehensive strategy for re-opening the State economy after a COVID-related stay-at-home order
  • Co-led the process of creating the strategy, theory of change, decision-making approach, employee satisfaction scorecard, and organizational structure for a 60+ million dollar national nonprofit
  • Led an organizational culture diagnostic and design process for a 150+ person project team on a multi-billion-dollar construction project
  • Designed a delivered a series of workshops and other organizational interventions to help a multi-billion dollar high tech general contractor set a new standard for high character in the construction industry
