Biography
Matt Hyde is the former President and CEO of West Marine, the largest specialty retailer of boating supplies and accessories in the world. He previously was Executive Vice President of Merchandising and Marketing for Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI), where he oversaw the brand’s gear and apparel business and managed the cooperative’s retail stores, inventory management, social compliance, marketing, public affairs, and e‑commerce functions. Mr. Hyde previously led REI’s online division, championing its award-winning multichannel strategy. He currently serves on the board of the YMCA of the USA as its immediate past chairman and is the Executive Chairman of 5.11 Tactical.
